We have now been informed that Ash may not be moved around the UK until the authorities have conducted their nationwide surveys and inspections. We expect this to take most of the winter and we are hopeful that all nurseries, Alba included, will be permitted to send out healthy ash trees in spring 2013.

We believe that importing trees risks importing disease from Europe. As an island nation, we have the potential to keep ourselves isolated from the recent waves of pests and diseases which have ravaged the continent. It is not just about trees - many plants are hosts for diseases which can kill trees. Please check where your plants were grown, every time you order - we publish it on our quotes, orders and invoices. And spread the word - Buy British!

Native trees
As well as being the largest supplier of cell grown trees to UK forestry, we specialise in native trees for sites of ecological importance. We pay particular attention to traceability and provenance so you can be sure of where your plants came from. Take a look at examples of sites we have supplied to date. As well as native trees, we also produce a wide range of shrubs, wildflowers and reeds. With the rapid decline in bee numbers in the UK, the importance of wildflowers is being increasingly recognised as an essential element to ecosystems.

We have two pricing structures: one for wholesale and one for fewer than 150 plants. It is best to check availability on the ordering menu before contacting us, as we sometimes sell out of species towards the end of the growing season.
